With over 34 years experience, a dedicated staff of development
engineers, manufacturing engineers and global sourcing team, TSE possesses the technical
expertise for Interconnection Solutions.
What markets does TSE serve?
TSE specializes in Custom Interconnects encompassing all cabling needs for medical
device markets, data communications markets, test instrumentation markets, avionics
markets and more.
What are TSE’s development and design services?
TSE offers expertise in product design and problem-solving. TSE employs a staff
of application engineers whose primary task is helping customers with design validation
and development. TSE’s services include design and development assistance, documentation
and prototyping, as well as electrical, mechanical and environmental testing.
What are TSE’s core competencies?
Technical problem-solving, technical design services, world-wide technical sourcing
and award-winning customer service are TSE’s key strengths.
Does TSE create prototypes?
Prototypes are imperative for new product development. The development of new cable
assemblies is an iterative process, with input from many resources. TSE employs
many methods including temporary aluminum tools, 3D modeling, SLA and others.
Does TSE provide products from standard tooling?
While owning no ‘product’ design, TSE creates customer prints as a service to customers.
Each cable assembly and interconnection system that TSE manufactures is built to
a specific customer print requirement.
What types of cables and harnesses does TSE manufacture?
In the custom cable assembly service business, it is difficult to make an absolute
statement about products. TSE concentrates on product types requiring more technology
than typical wiring assemblies. However, with TSE’s long-standing affiliates in
Asia, we can support most customer cable assemblies or wiring harnesses.
Is TSE registered with UL/CSA?
Yes. TSE’s domestic factories are recognized by UL/CSA to manufacture agency-approved
cables.
Is TSE ISO certified?
TSE is ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2003 certified. Ongoing internal audits as well
as audits performed by external auditing firms ensures TSE meets or exceeds the
standards identified in the certification process.
What is TSE’s standard lead time?
TSE consistently works to reduce assembly lead time to one week or less.
What is an NRE?
When unique tooling is required, TSE charges a Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) fee.
This fee covers tooling, design assistance, drafting, storage, future repairs and
other associated costs. This minimizes paperwork and future delays when a tool might
need repair or replacement by TSE. Some generic tools exist for over-molding standard
connectors.
Where is TSE located?
TSE has two manufacturing locations in Minnesota and an affiliated company in the
Far East, with production in Taiwan and China. All locations have a full compliment
of engineering and manufacturing capabilities. This multiple-site design provides
ultimate flexibility to serve our customers with risk management in case of an emergency
or disaster.
What CAD system does TSE use?
Currently, TSE uses AutoCAD 2002 and Pro E. With 3D capabilities and electronic
transfer of files, TSE accommodates literally all computer-aided drafting systems.
Is TSE a privately held or public company?
TSE is a privately held company and is in the top 50 private custom cable assembly
companies in the United States. At present, TSE employs over 225 people.
